FAQ
Quick answers about how we work. Final details are always confirmed on site or from photos you send.
General
What areas do you serve? +
We are centered in Gaston County (Mount Holly shop address), with local pages for communities we aim to keep within about a 50-minute drive of Belmont, NC — including Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Union, Lincoln, and Cleveland counties. North Carolina only; we do not service South Carolina, but we can connect you with someone who does—mention it when you call, text, or email. Call if your town is not listed.
Are you insured? +
Yes. We carry appropriate liability coverage for the work we perform and can provide a certificate for property managers when required.
How do I get on the schedule? +
Call or text 980-888-3156, email [email protected], or use the contact form. We will confirm scope, access, whether an 811 submission is needed, and timing.
What payment methods do you accept? +
Check, cash, Cash App, ACH, Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Credit cards are accepted with a small processing fee. If you need something else, ask when we send your invoice—we will confirm what works for that job.
Do you offer any discounts? +
We offer a 5% appreciation discount for veterans, first responders, teachers, and other frontline workers. Use the checkbox on the stump estimator or mention it when you contact us. One qualifying category per project; we may ask for simple verification.
Stump grinding
How deep do you grind stumps? +
Often up to about 16 inches below grade when the site allows. Actual depth depends on utilities, rock, slope, roots, and what you are doing with the area next—turf, mulch, beds, hardscape prep, etc.
Can your grinder fit through my backyard gate? +
Often yes—if the path really fits. Our grinder is about 35 inches wide with tracks retracted (wider with tracks out for traction), and you still need room to turn. Send gate width, path photos, and notes on steps, slope, walls, or tight corners before we schedule.
Do I need an 811 utility locate before stump grinding? +
Generally required and highly recommended. When the scope calls for it, we file NC 811 and build the locate wait into scheduling. Private lines—irrigation, low-voltage lighting, propane, pool, septic, pet fence, and similar—usually need separate locating unless we have arranged that in advance.
Will the tree grow back after grinding? +
Grinding removes the bulk of the root crown that fuels regrowth. Persistent suckers can happen with some species; we can advise on follow-up or treatment if needed. If you want more of the root zone chased beyond the stump, we can grind farther out when you include that in the scope.
Do you remove the mulch / chips? +
Default service leaves a manageable soil-and-chip mix in the hole. If you want haul-off, level-and-seed, or prep for planting, say so when you request a quote.
Is the online estimator a firm price? +
No. It is a planning range based on typical residential access, with a $150 floor for stump grinding we book. Final pricing is confirmed after we review photos or the site (count, size, access, finish).
Is there a minimum job charge? +
Yes. Stump grinding jobs we schedule have a $150 minimum. The estimator never shows a planning range below that, and your confirmed written quote for the agreed grind-only scope is not under $150. It can go up if verified scope is larger than what you entered.
Do you plant trees and shrubs too? +
Yes. We can pair stump removal with professional planting and bed finish so the area looks intentional, not like a patch job.
